Project Overview
World Trade Center Tower 2, designed by Norman Foster & Associates, was envisioned as a striking 90-story office tower rising 1,270 feet above Lower Manhattan. The project, part of the broader redevelopment of the World Trade Center site, was planned to include 2.8 million square feet of premium office space within a total 3.1 million square foot structure. Although the tower itself was paused due to lack of a major anchor tenant, a critical portion of the project—a four-level basement—was constructed to provide structural and utility support for the entire World Trade Center complex. This foundational work was essential to the site’s long-term functionality and integration.

Square Edge’s Role
Prior to the founding of Square Edge Inc., our leadership played a key role in the construction management of Tower 2 on behalf of Silverstein Properties. Our responsibilities included overseeing complex subterranean construction, navigating stringent security and regulatory frameworks, and ensuring seamless coordination with other tower projects underway at the site. The experience managing such a high-profile and technically demanding development continues to inform Square Edge’s meticulous, risk-conscious approach to large-scale urban projects today.
